Jai has been working both on and off stage for over two decades as an accomplished director, performer and now internationally acclaimed playwright. In 2005, following successful runs in New Zealand and Australia, his first musical Disco Inferno was published by Josef Weinbergers, London and became an instant hit with productions running simultaneously in Australia, New Zealand, Shanghai and Zimbabwe as well as throughout Europe. A recent addition to the MTI catalogue, Disco Inferno now enjoys consider success on both sides of the Atlantic. Jai is currently working on a new rock musical, Don’t Stop Believin’ as well a number of other exciting theatre projects with some of the industry's most prolific writers and composers.

In 1992, Jai was responsible for establishing award-winning, Stage One Theatre Company and as resident Artistic Director, has produced and directed every production since. As a performer notable roles in various theatres throughout the U.K. have included ‘Gary’ in A Slice of Saturday Night, the title role in Jesus Christ Superstar, ‘Daddy Warbucks’ in Annie 'Fagin’ in Oliver, ‘Galileo’ in We Will Rock You, ‘Captain von Trapp’ in The Sound of Music, ‘Robbie’ in The Wedding Singer the title role in Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd and his award-winning portrayal of ‘The Creature’ in the London premiere of Frankenstein.

In 2011, Jai opened the Brookside Theatre, Essex and, alongside wife Harri, manages this incredibly successful London fringe venue.
